What USDMD costs to mint, redeem and hold.
Fees are set in the controller and can change only through the public timelock. The figures below are read live from the chain.

| Mint | 0.10% | Taken from the value of the gold delivered. Minted to the treasury, so every USDMD, fee included, is covered by collateral. |
| Redeem | 0.10% | Taken from the USDMD returned. The rest is burned and paid out in the reserve asset at the oracle price. |
| Haircut | PAXG 0.00%, XAU-MOCK 0.00% | Taken off an asset's value in every valuation, mint included. Set per asset in the collateral registry, through the timelock. |
| Transfer | None | The token has no transfer fee and cannot acquire one. |
| Holding | None | No custody, management or negative-interest fee. USDMD pays no yield either. |
| Dispenser and MockXAU drip | Free | Testnet only. |
| Network gas | Varies | Paid in MIDS to the network, not to the issuer. Testnet MIDS is free from the faucet. |
Mint and redeem fees read from the controller's params(). Maximum either fee can be set to: 5.00%.
Limits
| Mint cap | 500,000 USDMD | USDMD value that can be minted per 24-hour epoch, across everyone. |
| Redemption cap | 25.00% | 25.00% of supply per 24-hour epoch, and never less than 10,000 USDMD. It exists so a run cannot outpace the gold's settlement. |
Worked example
At XAU/USD 4,188.17, minting with 0.05 oz of MockXAU gives a value of 209.408750 USDMD. The 0.10% mint fee is 0.209408, so you receive 209.199342 and the treasury receives 0.209408. Redeeming 209.199342 USDMD back pays 0.049900 oz after the 0.10% redeem fee.

Mainnet fees, including any fee for delivery of physical gold, are not set. They will be published here before any mainnet mint.
