Money is not metal.
It is a guarantee
about metal.

Humans held gold for four thousand years before they had money. What changed in Lydia was not the metal. It was that someone put their name on it.

Sardis · c. 600 BC

Money was invented once, beside a river

A king washed a curse into the Pactolus and it ran gold. The Lydians pulled that metal out, discovered nobody could tell how much of it was real, and solved it with a black stone and a stamp. That is the whole invention of money, and it is the job we are still doing.

Krysos

We are the stamp, not the gold

Krysos issues MIDS, the token of Midas Chain. An issuer's only real product is a guarantee — that the supply is what it says, that the treasury holds what it claims, and that both can be checked by someone who does not trust us.

Issuance is capped in the contract itself, and the cap is checked against tokens ever minted — not tokens currently in circulation. Burning is therefore permanent: a burned token cannot be reissued, which is the only reading under which a supply reduction means anything.

The assay

What an honest issuer publishes

The Lydians stamped a lion's head because a claim you cannot check is just a story. These are ours, and they are checkable.

01

A supply cap in the contract, not the marketing

One billion, enforced on-chain against lifetime issuance. No mechanism exists to raise it, and burned tokens do not return as headroom.

02

Treasury addresses you can watch

Published, and independently checkable. A reserve nobody can see is an assertion, not a reserve.

03

A ceiling on how much we will sell

Issuance runs in fixed tranches, each with a published limit. Selling pauses automatically when treasury cover, conversion flow or price band moves outside its bounds. The limit is stated in advance — not discovered afterwards.

04

Our own risks, in writing

The token economics document names the pressures on this design, including the ones that count against us. An issuer that only publishes its good news has told you what kind of issuer it is.

The lion's head was never worth anything. It only meant somebody had checked.
